This role will predominantly support our Accounts Payable function, ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time, financial controls are maintained, and internal stakeholders are well supported.
About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Services Manager and working within a collaborative finance team, you will provide financial, administrative and clerical services, with a strong focus on Accounts Payable while also supporting broader finance functions as required.
While the preferred location is Mildura, we are open to hybrid or remote arrangements for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (Primary Focus)
- Review and process invoices in accordance with GST requirements
- Ensure invoices are correctly authorised and coded to location/business units
- Process creditor payments within agreed credit terms
- Undertake month-end creditor reconciliations
- Manage supplier queries and maintain strong vendor relationships
- Process payment runs including PAYG, superannuation, rent, BAS and ad-hoc payments
- Monitor BPAY and direct debit uploads
- Support payment controls and financial procedures across the business
Additional Finance Support
- Assist with Accounts Receivable processes as required
- Support payroll processing when needed
- Assist with audit preparation and statutory compliance
- Contribute to continuous improvement of financial systems and processes
- You’ll also provide support across other finance functions, including corporate card and cash management, as required.
About You
You’re organised, solutions-focused and take pride in producing accurate, timely work. You understand the importance of strong financial controls and enjoy supporting colleagues with clear and practical advice.
Essential
- Certificate III in Accounting or Business (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accounting or finance environment
- Solid understanding of accounting principles
- Strong systems capability including spreadsheets and general ledger systems
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Professional discretion and confidentiality
Desirable
- Working towards or willing to undertake a Bachelor of Accounting or Business
- You will also demonstrate adaptability, accountability, integrity and a strong team orientation aligned with MADEC’s values.
